The Faculty of Law of the University of Montenegro has provided computer equipment, worth about 16,000 euros, which will support practical education of students through the project "Legal Clinics in the Service of Vulnerable Groups: Enhancing the Employability of Law Students Through Practical Education" (ENEMLOS).

The equipment procured within the ENEMLOS project includes 13 laptops, four computers, two printers with multipurpose functions, and accompanying installation equipment. Installed in the new premises at the Faculty of Law, the equipment will enable the work of students, teaching staff and non-academic partners with vulnerable groups. The procurement of literature is in progress, which includes numerous titles of both domestic and European Union law, as well as titles related to the clinical legal education.

Next week, the Faculty of Law, with the support of its IT service, will organize training of academic and non-academic staff to work on purchased equipment and new programs that will be used in clinics such as smart boards, Zoom, Moodle, Big Blue Button, etc.

In this way, the Faculty of Law, along with other activities, creates conditions for the realization of the final part of the ENEMLOS project, the work of students with the live clients (vulnerable groups) with the participation of both academic partners and non-academic partners representing the judiciary in Montenegro.

Training of teaching, non-academic staff and students in this project will enable visits and observations of law clinics at law faculties in Zagreb, London and Warsaw, as well as workshops where clinicians from these institutions will hold trainings that will provide participants with necessary practical knowledge and assistance for quality and satisfying work with vulnerable groups.

The role of each clinician requires certain qualifications. In addition to theoretical and practical knowledge, clinicians should have the ability to accept criticism from colleagues and students and to show interest in researching educational and legal issues that arise within clinical legal education.

This three-year project is supported under the Erasmus + capacity building program in the field of higher education. The project includes three eminent institutions from the EU that successfully deal with clinical legal education, especially working with the live clients: Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb, Regent University of London and University Center for Legal Clinics in Warsaw. Non-academic partners from Montenegro are the Supreme Court, the State Prosecutor's Office of Montenegro, the Chamber of Judicial Officers of Montenegro, the Bar Association of Montenegro, Notary Chamber of Montenegro and the Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution.
