Aims and Objectives

At the Faculty of law UoM several aims and objectives have been recognised.

  1. Modernization and streamlining of the existing teaching practice, especially in practical legal disciplines;
  2. Enhancing the overall capacity (human, technical and other resources) of the law faculties involved to provide quality legal education based on best European practices in clinical legal education
  3. Establishing new mechanisms of cooperation, i.e. interlinking of the higher education institutions involved, which will result with similar initiatives and activities in the future;
  4. Providing strong incentive for the higher education institutions involved, and particularly so in case of UoM Faculty of Law, to establish long-term sustainable cooperation with judiciary, National Prosecutor’s office and number of professional associations. Enabling students to gain practical knowledge through practical experience. Practical educational component is indispensable as a background tool for students’ primal knowledge on judiciary and related fields and their first encounter with the challenges of the real practice.

Gaining new legal skills, valuable experience and knowledge to students, by preparing them for the legal market, and exposing them to the future employers from all legal professionals in Montenegro

Developing students’ interest and motivation.

Enhancing employability of the law students after the completion of the legal education.

Enabling wider community – specially VULNARABLE clients to protect their rights through legal aid that can be provided by students and clinical programs, acting pro bono and in general interests on behalf of the interested clients.

Generating the change in the society through the offer of legal clinics - efficient tools

Facilitating the identification of the candidates for the international moot court competitions in the field of Commercial and international law, under Commercial Law Clinics. It will be organized so to gather the teams for the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Law, Vis Moot Court Vienna, and Phillip Jessup Moot Court Competition, or help to start-up companies in the field of Company law and Commercial law. Special attention will also be paid to popularization of the legal clinics among students who are first hand beneficiaries of this important project.

Disseminating the information on mandate and accomplishments of the Project. Spreading information about the purpose and accomplishments of the project is necessary so to ensure further development of such a practice in the regional and wider terms.

At the UKZ several aims and objectives have been recognised.

For UKZ, cooperation between universities and enterprises in the region is very important. Based on the development strategy, we have foreseen the development of this partnership which has a direct impact on the growth of the overall impact and development of the region.

For UKZ, inter-institutional cooperation and the region are important priorities. This is due to the fact that it influences the mobility of students and staff, also the labor market and the opportunities for obtaining and exchanging legal practices. The Law Faculty at UKZ currently does not have a Legal Clinic, however, cases and practices have been developed by utilizing other institutional partners.

Supporting this project for the inclusion of students and professors in a legal education clinic is a favourable opportunity that helps to increase efficiency at work. It affects the development of students and professors, contributes to the advancement of their skills and skills, and also enhances their professional competencies.

The legal clinic will also develop pro bono activities on public interest. Services for these activities will be offered by mentored students from tutors from the Faculty of Law or its associates.

The project enables the development of teaching methodology and creates a new atmosphere at the Faculty which will bring higher efficiency to target groups.

The Faculty of Law at UKZ has identified several objectives, which are presented below:

  1. advancing the teaching methodology, by adding the practical part of the legal education clinic;
  2. Increasing and improvement the quality of learning, based on the exchange of experiences between universities in the project;
  3. Creating new mechanisms of cooperation, linking joint programs of integrated mobility;
  4. Support the building of bridges of cooperation between the involved institutions, including the relevant law faculties. Also, advancing the cooperation of these institutions with the justice and security structures in the relevant countries, including lawyers, enforcement agents, notaries and other professional actors that would enable the vocational training of practical-based in studies.

Develop of student skills, abilities and preparing them for the labor market. Through collaborations with non-academic actors, the students' ability is exposed to work as their future job providers.

Creating a motivating environment for professional and academic development, increasing interest and creating co-operation and increasing the employment of law students after completing legal teaching.

Provide access to marginalized groups to access pro bono services that will be provided by students and other stakeholders dealing with the Legal Clinic.

The development of internships in legal clinics enables the introduction and affirmation of students with high university knowledge who can serve in the future for university representation in quizzes or other local and international competitions.

Enhance legal behaviour in society based on the advices and services of the Legal Clinic.

Continuing the project even after its completion. By presenting the achievements and good examples of cooperation. The project will serve as an important model for Kosovo and the region as a whole.
